There's nothing more refreshing on a hot Summer day than an antioxidant-packed and fiber-rich bowl of Açaí. Açaí is a colorful and eclectic Brazilian superfood dish made of frozen and mashed açaí palm fruit. It's typically served as a smoothie bowl, topped with granola, an assortment of fresh fruits, nuts and seeds. So, if you're into tasty and healthy snacks, this one's for you! It's a healthier alternative to ice cream and a spunkier version of typical smoothies. 

It can be enjoyed as a yummy and nutritious breakfast option and/ or snack. Feel free to indulge in this eclectic bowl of goodness!

ONLY 9 INGREDIENTS

TOTAL TIME: < 10 MINUTES

What to use...

For blending:

  • 1 pack frozen acai (I usually buy Sambazon smoothie packs)
  • ½ frozen banana (it's best when ripe!)
  • Heaping ½ - ¾ cup fresh fruit (usually mixed berries)
  • 1/3 cup nut milk or coconut water (I used coconut water from a raw coconut - YUMMY).
  • 1 tbsp protein powder (optional—I don’t always add this)

For topping:

  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds (or any seed you like)
  • ¼ cup organic granola
  • ½ banana, sliced
  • dark chocolate chips (a sprinkle or two)
  • raw coconut shreds (apply your desired amount)    

 

What to do...

  • Put all the "blending" ingredients in a blender until smooth. If too thick, just keep adding a little coconut milk until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • Add your "toppings" and don't forget to make it fancy!
